Size: A medium starts (unstretched) @ 27+ inches. I recommend going one to two sizes larger, depending on which end of S,M,L,XL you are on. For me, 30" is a large. This is an awesome product IF (emphasize IF) you hand or gentle launder and NOT put in a dryer. My first set lasted 2 gentle washes and 2 low dry. Then they were too small. Low dry is too hot for this material. Hang them up and they will dry as fast as cotton of the same dry weight. and VERY slowly shrink - over a decade or two. I have three old sets, the YOUNGEST being 24 years old. The set (matching top)that I am wearing as I type - this has over 400 GENTLE washes, and air drys. The manufacturer changed, but this is made to the same military specs of 2+ decades ago. I'll likely get buried in a set of these. :)
