The Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal is a decoration presented to recognize members who have completed three years of honorable service. Members who serve one year during a time of war are also eligible for the award. Enlistment bars displaying the period of time for which the award was presented were used until 1953 when subsequent awards became denoted by Service Stars worn on the award medal.
