These are the standard issue Type II coyote brown flash hood for the US army. These light weight military flash hoods are are flame resistant which means that they will not melt onto your skin when exposed to extreme heat or flame.
You should not use these hoods in extreme cold. However, they are effective at decreasing exposure on chilly days.
