Haversack M1928 is a field pack into which the enlisted man's individual equipment is rolled and carried when on the march, this was the standard issue load carrying pack worn by nearly every regular US Army soldier in WWII. This pack was comprehensively designed to carry the extra underwear, personal items, rations, blanket, shelter, and other items that every soldier needed while on the move.Standard pack issued to US troops in WWII, except paratroopers. The Marines also used them until it was replaced by their own "782" pack system in the middle of the conflict. Backpack is sold in the original condition.

*UPDATE* Got done speaking with the CS team and they will absolutely make things right if any problems are encountered! Buy with confidence. *Original* As one familiar with surplus gear I've come accustomed to a certain level of abuse. Dirt & grime, field repairs & rusted buckles etc. Nothing that can't be taken care of in an afternoon. However in the case of this, the rust on the buckles was so bad that it has eaten through the straps rendering this no more than a pile of scrap. Would love to have been able to clean this up and recommend this to others but unfortunately I cannot. Pro: Came with meat tin pouch intact. Cons: Buckles so rusted they rotted through the straps.
