The original issue G.I. ALICE straps were made are heavy-duty 1000 denier nylon and padding for comfort  They features a quick release buckle on one strap so you can drop your pack and head for cover in a hurry.  The LC-2 All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment was the main carry system for the U.S. Military dating back to the 70's and 80' before being replaced with MOLLE frames; however, still have great function and use.
