The Army Valorous Unit Citation is awarded by the United States Army to units of the United States Armed Forces or co-belligerent nations which display extraordinary heroism in action against an armed enemy of the United States on or after 3 August 1963. It is the 2nd highest unit award of the U.S. Army and is considered the unit equivalent of a Silver Star Medal. This is a "ribbon only" award.
