Army Surplus World has a Canvas European School Bag. The Canvas European School Bag have an expandable shoulder or carry bag with 15" of interior room. The European school bag makes a great weekender bag or maybe a notebook computer carry bag (not padded however). It will also carry large ring binders. The School Messenger Bags have an adjustable shoulder strap with top grap handle, 2 interior compartments, an expandable main compartment, a zipper exterior flap pocket and a 12" ruler. The book bag is made of heavy-weight cotton canvas.

    After 4 years +/- daily use it is still in great shape.

    I use this for my work briefcase, including a fair amount of outdoor use. Right after I bought it I replaced the Velcro with buckles, so I can’t speak to how well the Velcro would hold up. But the rest of the bag has held up very well. Mine is brown and the color is fading somewhat, in a nice sort of way.
