I bought one for my freshman year in high school, and it survived carrying 75+ lbs of books for 4 years, then carried all my extra gear for 7 years in the army, through every field problem, blood mud sweat and tears, books again in college, then about a decade of camping with the family before it finally couldn't be stitched back together anymore. I had to bend the steel buckles back into shape now and then, but I have never had a single more useful piece of gear. Only about $10 more than I paid for it in 1989, too. This is the best bag I've ever owned, and the only one I'd say I truly loved, because my 1st one was tough enough to be there through everything during the roughest years of my life. My new one won't see the same level of hard use, but I know it'll probably outlive me. Really can't thank you guys enough for carrying it. Never thought I'd be able to replace the one that went through it all with me❤
