The Multi-national Force and Observers Medal is a decoration authorized by the Director General of the Multinational Force and Observers to recognize international military members who participated in the support of the ceasefire zone between Egypt and Israel after the Yom Kippur War of 1973. The U.S. military authorized this award to be issued to service members who completed at least 170 cumulative days of services from August 1981 (Prior to March 15, 1985, only 90 days of service was required). Special circumstances allow for the time period to be waived.
