A couple reviews led me to believe these PA k have catastrophic damage to the lids. Mine does not. A couple grommets have a light blue corrosion (easily cleaned) and marks from it on small spots on the lid. The lid is in good shape, considering the storage time, and every ALICE lid will deteriorate over it's lifetime. These are minor issues. The pack itself it in new condition, as is the frame and straps. I would buy it again.

Due to improper storage and excessive moisture almost all of the cinch eyelets are corroded. The corrosion has caused excessive damage to the rubber coating under the lid flap. I own a use rucksack in better shape than these that only cost me $80.

I ordered this product hoping it would be “New” old stock. The frame, extra-wide heavy padded kidney pad, heavy padded shoulder straps and heavy duty anodized aluminum frame are all new and look great. The Alice pack however looked new on the out side. Once I opened the main compartment flap, most (if not all) of the cinch cord eyelets had a blue corrosion on them that had transferred to lid. Soaking the ruck in water and using a soft brush to clean it up, I did get it clean. However, the rubber lid is now dry and cracked and will have fallen off before too long. Not worth the $129.99 considering I own a used ruck in better shape.
