At Army Surplus World we carry U.S. Genuine Issue M-65 field jackets. It was introduced into U.S. military service in 1965 to replace the M-1951 field jacket. The M-65 field jacket was widely used by the United States troops during the Vietnam War in which the jacket became useful for troops serving in the central highlands of south Vietnam. The front of the jacket has two large hip pockets. It has two medium sized breast pockets. The rearmost neck portion and collar of the jacket features a zipper which houses a protective hood. The jacket can be combined with a button insulated lining for cold weather wear. These are gently used in very good, clean condition with no rips, tears or holes. Every jacket is fully inspected to make sure that all hardware and components are intact and working properly.

- Appears to be 1986 New Old Stock!
These jackets are listed as "used", but the one I received has bits of thread on it from when it was made! ie. never been washed. It's labeled "DLA-100-86-0834 Golden Mfg. Co. Inc." So this is basically a new jacket made in 1986 or shortly there after. I couldn't be happier! As for sizing, I'm 70" tall w/42" chest, ordered Medium Regular and fits well over a tee-shirt and sweat shirt. If someone my size wanted to use a liner, they would need to get a large.

- Looked new
I ordered a use medium and it was to big. Got a smal and the small looked brand new. It had the army name tape on it. Greta condition.

- Great find, might get another.
I lost my issued field jacket the last time I moved, I found this one for a very reasonable price. I didn't want to get a "new" vintage jacket, the worn - broken in feel is much more comfortable. I didn't give it 5 stars on the quality just because it's "issued", I expected it to be worn and have character. So don't count it out because of that, they were made to last! Otherwise, I really like the one they picked out for me as it brings back memories. Still in very good condition, no tears or holes. I had to sew the wrist cuff Velcro patch back on, no big deal for 5 minutes of work. If I lose this one, I know where to go for another!
